Quigo Privacy Policy
Overview
Quigo Technologies, Inc. ("Quigo") places importance on the privacy of our clients and their businesses. We adhere to the policies regarding privacy and security outlined below. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at privacy@quigo.com. Please familiarize yourself with the below sections that are applicable to you.
Ad Serving
Quigo partners with numerous companies to provide online advertisements to "End Users" — human end users of websites on the internet. As an End User browses the web, he or she may visit web-pages that include references to Quigo's advertising service. When this happens, an End User's browser may request advertisements from Quigo's system.
When Quigo receives these requests, we may record information about this interaction (as well as any further interaction with our advertisements such as clicks, mouse movements, etc.) including the End User's IP address and time of request, information about the general geographical location from which an End User is viewing an advertisement, and other information made available by the browser.
Additionally, Quigo employs small text files stored on your web browser (otherwise known as cookies) for the purpose of better tailoring advertisements to an End User's preferences over time. These cookies may include a unique anonymous identifier along with information about the particular types of content in which the End User has shown interest.
On occasion, partner sites, vendors or internally run surveys may provide us with additional information about End Users. In these situations, all information is kept entirely anonymous and does not include any type of personally identifiable information. Quigo only accepts this information from organizations with clearly available and visible privacy policies.
Quigo does not sell information it collects about End Users. However, Quigo may share data about aggregate usage statistics with the public or other businesses with whom we work.
Because Quigo takes privacy seriously, End Users can opt out of being identified individually on our network. If an End User chooses to opt out of individual identification within the Quigo network, Quigo will set a small cookie for the sole purpose ensuring that such End User is no longer tracked individually. This cookie will last for one year as long as the End User does not delete cookies or change computers. Click here to opt-out. If an End User deletes its cookies after opting out, he or she will need to opt out again by clicking the link in this paragraph. End Users also have the option, at any time, to set their browser to not accept cookies from Quigo. In these situations Quigo's system will still provide advertisements to the End User. Please note, however, that these advertisements may be less relevant to such End User's interests.
The capture, storage and analysis of information are solely for the purposes of ensuring a positive End User experience, eliminating fraudulent activity, and system administration.
FeedPoint Tracking Services
In addition to the anonymous ad serving that Quigo performs as described above, some clients use Quigo's FeedPoint tracking technology to better understand the effectiveness of their marketing programs. The FeedPoint tracking technology includes the use of "redirects" and pixel-based tracking technologies.
FeedPoint pixel-based tracking and redirects both use anonymous cookies to understand the activities of End Users. As part of this tracking, cookies are used to understand each particular End User's activities.
Information collected by these technologies include what particular pages an End User visits, what types of marketing effort the End User responds to, purchase amounts and products purchased as well as IP address, time of request and other information made available by the browser.
Information captured through FeedPoint tracking technology is utilized by Quigo and by associated clients and other companies to optimize and report on marketing programs.
If an End User would prefer not to be tracked by FeedPoint tracking services, they are free to disable FeedPoint.net cookies within their browser. If you wish to disable cookies, you can find directions by searching on search.msn.com. Be sure to include the name of your browser in the search such as "disabling cookies Internet Explorer".
Quigo.com and AdSonar.com
All End Users are free to visit Quigo.com and AdSonar.com. Quigo.com and AdSonar.com are designed to help our existing and potential clients better understand our various products and services. For End Users who are simply browsing the various web pages on Quigo.com or AdSonar.com, we primarily track general clickstream behavior such as what pages the End Users view, how they go from page to page, how long they spend on each page, and what items they click or select on each page, as well as information about the particular End User's browser technology and settings.
In addition to the use of web logs, we use industry-standard pixel-tracking technology to better understand the use of our site. This includes the use of 3rd party Web Analytics Vendor Omniture Inc., a Delaware corporation which tracks general clickstream behavior described in the foregoing paragraph.
Throughout the site, End Users have the option to provide additional information about themselves so that a Quigo sales person can contact them to further discuss our products & services. If an End User provides this information, Quigo will use this information solely for the stated purpose. Unless an End User selects otherwise or as required by law, this personally identifiable information is not sold to third parties or shared outside our organization.
When an End User signs up as a Quigo AdSonar advertiser, any information associated with that End User's cookies on Quigo.com or AdSonar.com up until the time of sign-up is recorded as part of that End User's profile, provided that cookies have not been deleted from such End User's computer.
AdSonar Advertisers
If an advertiser chooses to sign-up to the AdSonar advertising network, they are explicitly agreeing to the use of information they provide as described below. The nature of this technology means that advertisers who do not agree with this policy cannot use the AdSonar tools. The Terms and Conditions that they agree to during registration allow Quigo to update the terms of this privacy policy at any time and without notice. It is an Advertiser's responsibility to review this privacy policy prior to logging in. Use of Quigo.com, AdSonar.com and FeedPoint.net (collectively the "Quigo Web Sites") is conditioned on your acceptance without modification of the terms, conditions, and notices contained herein. Your use of the Quigo Web Sites constitutes your agreement to all such terms, conditions, and notices.
Personal information provided by an advertiser will be combined with information about its purchasing patterns of Quigo's products and services, its use of the AdSonar technologies, performance of its advertisements, and all other information provided by the advertiser. This information will be used to improve the applications provided to advertisers, improve the relevancy of ad results and any other use deemed helpful to the Quigo enterprise. Quigo regularly shares this information with key partners on an individual basis. Furthermore, Quigo and its partners may use this information to contact the advertiser about additional products and services.
An advertiser has the right to terminate their relationship with Quigo in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in the advertiser's contract with Quigo. However, all information captured about the advertiser will remain the property of Quigo indefinitely.
Organizations We Work With
Quigo provides access to organizations we work with on the AdSonar advertising network to manage their own advertising networks. Those relationships are managed under contracts between the Quigo and the respective partners. The campaign management tools which Quigo provides to many of its partners allow each such partner to view all relevant information of the AdSonar advertisers whose ads are being displayed on that partner's site. Such information includes bidding data, spend data, topics and placements viewed and purchased, and the advertiser's contact information.
Conclusion
Quigo works hard to respect the privacy of its users. Unless required otherwise by applicable law or legal process, Quigo will operate entirely within the policies described above. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy, please feel free to contact privacy@quigo.com.
Quigo reserves the right to change this policy at any time due to changes in applicable laws, Quigo's business needs or otherwise. Use of Quigo.com, AdSonar.com, Quigo's FeedPoint or AdSonar services, or use of the websites which utilize Quigo's services constitutes agreement with the terms of this policy as may be amended by Quigo from time to time.
