Local Chamber of Commerce Shows Patch Some Love

Pleasantville, N.Y., Local Editor Sarah Studley has shown her town just how valuable Patch can be – and now she's been recognized with a special award from the Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce. From day-to-day updatesgoings-on in the neighborhood and around-the-clock coverage during a natural disaster, her reporting has become a favorite of citizens and officials alike. We’re even told the Chamber of Commerce president bookmarked Patch on his iPad.

Among other reasons for the special award, Sarah rose to the daunting challenge of covering Hurricane Irene by providing constant outage and weather updates as well as jarring pictures and videos of the damage in the community. Her readers frequently comment on how much they appreciate the timeliness and detail of Sarah’s updates – during tumultuous times like Irene and otherwise.

And while all our Patch editors do amazing work every day, we’re proud of Sarah for receiving recognition for her dedicated service to the Pleasantville community. This isn’t only a win for Sarah, it’s a win for Patch – but most importantly, it's a win for Pleasantville.

To say congratulations to Sarah on her award, feel free to throw her a tweet at @PvillePatch.
