What was big in 2011? We all know the big news stories—Oprah ends her iconic daytime talk show, uprisings pop up abroad and in the US (so much so that Time Magazine chose “The Protester” as their person of the year), and Will and Kate said “I do” at Buckingham Palace.

But what was big for marketers and advertisers this year?
