Online pharmacies

Advertising for online pharmacies is acceptable, provided they are certified under the Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites (VIPPS) program developed and administered by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).

By way of background only, online pharmacies displaying the VIPPS seal have demonstrated compliance with VIPPS criteria including:

  •  
    1. patient rights to privacy,
    2. authentication and security of prescription orders,
    3. adherence to a recognized quality assurance policy, and
    4. provision of meaningful consultation between patients and pharmacist.
